The location of a KFC restaurant is usually in the center of various business districts, where are usually covered by great signal of the three major signal operators.   After the site survey, we found the signal of China Mobile is very good, and no need to consider China Mobile signal. However, 4G signal of China Unicom and China Telecom are weak on the checkout counter, kitchen, corner, and office. The reason is that China Mobile had signal coverage inside of the building. Therefore, people could only receive China Unicom and China Telecom signal from outdoor base station. What’s more, as there is a building in the front of KFC restaurant, it’s normal to have weak signal of China Unicom and China Telecom in KFC restaurant.   To solved the mentioned weak signal problem, we only need to aim at the exact signal frequencies and make signal coverage at the following positions.     Signal survey result as follows,   According to the above signal data, we could tell that China Mobile had a great signal distribution inside, but China Unicom and China Telecom not. Therefore, we need to transmit the outdoor signal of China Unicom and China Telecom to indoor, then amplify it.   Scheme Design According to the signal demands and the site survey, we use a high-power repeater with six indoor antenna to amplify signal in the checkout counter, kitchen, corner, and office. Topology picture as follows,   Wiring and construction Considering the clients flows and business time of KFC restaurant, the construction time was arranged to avoid the rush hour, and the whole construction is noiseless and dust free. Besides, the construction of kitchen was arranged after 21:30.   Except the indoor antenna in lobby, all the other antennas are installed into the ceiling without any exposure. Also, the outdoor antenna was installed below of the signboard, where won’t be look strangely.   Effect Test After signals are amplified, the signal strength is tested as follows,   Except no change on China Mobile signal, there are a great improvement of China Unicom and China Telecom signal. Especially the delivery clerks could have a better experience to receive takeout order and arrange delivery. The signal coverage offers a better signal experience for client and KFC staff.   Summary As KFC restaurant is usually covered by great signal of the three major signal operators, the signal problems are more likely that some frequencies are not covered. Therefore, an accurate site survey are necessary, then we could use a suitable repeater with correct frequency to amplify the specific signal to meet the demands of signal coverage.   Besides, as it’s a KFC restaurant, we have to consider the construction time when it won’t affect the business with easiest construction method.

Jiangyou City has a permanent population of about 500,000, which belongs to the construction and scale of a county-level city. As with the development momentum of county-level cities in other cities in China, new buildings and high- rise buildings are lining up. Infrastructure establishment and development are growing rapidly, and there is also a strong demand for communication equipment construction and network coverage. The Financial Center is a new building that is about to live. The building includes 4 high-floor residential buildings with 28 floors and above(eight high-floor elevators) , 1 low-floor building with 8 floors, and a 5-floor street shop. The entire building is in the final stage to hand over. The entire project is in the final sprint construction phase of greening, security monitoring, communication equipment and fire protection facilities. Because the signal providers can’t meet the demands of signal coverage, and the project acceptance stage is imminent. The project team needs to cover the signal blind area with calling signal to meet the demands of project acceptance and delivery.   Therefore, we adopt our One-Take-One system to solve the eight 30-floor elevators signal problem (28 ground floors, and 2 basement floors). As for three low-floor elevators (2 8-floor elevators and 1 5-floor elevators ), single-device system is adopted. High-Floor elevators One-Take-One system: even if the building is high to 30 floors (the length of elevator is over 100 meters), the remote unit has dynamic AGC mode to meet the demands of signal coverage in elevator box, in 28-floor or -2 floor.   Low-floor elevators: as the length of the elevator shaft is fewer than 30 meters, an high gain elevator antenna could meet the demands of signal cover in such a space, and it’s easy to penetrate signal into the elevators box.   Device: GSM900 + 1800Mhz (front 45Mhz) dual band booster. This frequency combo matches the low-frequency calling and high-frequency calling signal of China Mobile, and no matter how signal provider upgrades their base station, it won’t affect the clients’ use. Besides, the 1800Mhz (front 45Mhz) is also compatible to the upgrading 4G data signal of China Mobile, it means our solutions would also offer the coverage of 4G data signal (which is not included in the demands of client.), and clients would have a great 4G VOLTE calling experience.     Installation and Construction There are two high-floor elevators in one building, and they share one equipment room. The outdoor LPDA antenna could be installed on the outer wall of elevator equipment room, and face to outer open surroundings, then the antenna could receive good signal sources of GSM900Mhz and 1800Mhz. Device installation in equipment room: boosters are mounted on the wall, and the cable could get through the pipes or cable tray of equipment room to wire. Elevator antenna installation: the wiring must meet the installation requirements of the the elevator equipment engineering company. Device Installation on the elevators box and the wiring must meet the installation requirements of the the elevator equipment engineering company and the cable must get through the pipes or cable tray of equipment room to wire. Device debugging To ensure the best signal coverage, please adjust the output power of two main units (boosters in equipment room) to max 17dbm, adjust the gain as high as possible (no lower than 50dBm), decrease the gain compression and output compression . On screen, S1 is GSM900Mhz, and S2 is 1800MHz. In the pictures above, the output power of 900MHz and 1800Mhz are both full 17dBm, and gain are 55dBm and 63dBm, both of them won’t have much gain compression. The working status and output power have a best performance.   After debugging, walk around in elevator box to test the signal. When mobile is standby, signal strength is -52dBm and -63dBm, full bar. When the elevator is working, have a calling signal test: signal strength is between -72 to - 79dBm, full bar signal, and fluent calling experience. Just as the situation is considered in the was considered at the beginning of the solution, 4G data signal also would be strengthened in elevator box. Signal strength is -88dbm, and network speed is 16M/S for DL, 4M/S for UL, which could totally meet the 4G network demands in elevator box. Project summary For a solution with single signal provide-China Mobile, considering the long-term use, GSM900MHz/1800MHz (front 45MHz) are best frequency combo to amplify calling signal. If client’s demands are calling + data, we have to consider more factors, like the upgrade / adjustment of signal provider, and multi-frequency combo are best. The frequency combo of GSM900+DCS1800+TDD1900/TDD2300/TDD2600 (self-adaptive) is requested to meet the current and future needs of signal use.   One-Take-One syytem for high-floor elevator, it’s easy to debug, and install, which is the best choice for a elevator solution.

Construction Wiring 4.Efficiency After the test, the RU’s signal outputs of 900Mhz & 2100Mhz are +17dbm, which could ensure the signal coverage of the elevator.   Elevator 2, the RU’s 900Mhz has a full output power +17db, and output power of 2100Mhz is a litter weaker : only +08 db. 5.Testing in the elevator box. When elevator is working from 1st floor to 25th floor, the signals both of Mobile and Unicom are full bar with fluent calling and clear voice.   In the low floors, the Mobile signal strength could reach -43db with fluent calling and clear voice. In the low floors, the Unicom signal strength could reach -55db, with fluent calling and clear voice.   6.Conclusion Before offering solution and starting to construct, the below information should be known in advance, 1, the frequency requested 2, the signal strength needed to achieve. 3, the floors of the building.   Based on the information offered, when the booster has full output power, we could use standard kit of elevator shaft system to solve the signal coverage problem for within 10 floors. To solve the signal coverage problem more than 10 floors but within 30 floors, One Take-One Elevator System could be adopted.

The phone is offline in the corridors and rooms from 1st floor to 5th floor.     Narrow alleys, close houses, and internally sealed decoration structures, no matter how good the signal status outside the street, enters the interior, it has become a state of offline. There is a Telecom base station on the top of the building, so the signal strength of Telecom on the negative ground floor is good enough. The base stations of China Mobile and China Unicom are hundreds of meters away from the building, which could be used as signal sources. 3. , On the roof, we checked the communication signal frequency of China Mobile is DCS1800MHZ, signal strength -63db, and communication signal frequency of China Unicom is WCDMA2100MHZ, signal stregnth -57db. Signal strength both of them are quite good.   4. The environmental survey of negative layer. It’s the place to dry-cleaning and store the clothes. There are many workers but no a mobile signal to guarantee the communication. In some compartments, China mobile signal frequency can’t be detected; try to call 10086 (China Mobile’s service hotline), but no answer. Out of service for China Unicom.   2.Solution   No any layout of the negative ground floor. According to the estimated area of the site is about 800 square meters, and two aisles around the corner. We manually drew the layout and offer solution of antennas’ location as belows. According to the layout, we have a complete solution as below. As the negative ground floor is empty, the coverage of each antenna could be guaranteed. Due to the length of the cable, FB-12 cables would be adopted to ensure its perfect performance of each antenna.     High power dual band booster DCS1800+WCDMA2100 would be used, its full output power is +23dbm.   3. Construction of cables.   4.Efficiency   The output power of China Mobile (1800Mhz) & China Unicom (2100Mhz) reach +25dbm and +24dbm, which performs to the full output power perfectly. Refer to below pictures.   Within the three scopes with 5 ceiling antennas, the signal strength is over -85dbm, the calling quality and speed achieves great effectiveness. Below shows the random test of signal strength: China Mobile -63dbm, China Unicom -67dbm, both of them are full bar. This area is divided into 5 parts and 10 communities, and they are located in the west side of Yagongding Forest Park. This project is to provide signal coverage solution for two parking lots, one is 20,000 sqm in the North, and the other one is 50,000 in the South.     There is only a one-floor parking lot in the north area, which was divided into 3 areas (A, B ,C) with an area of around 20,000 sqm, 800 parking spaces. Signal could be tested at the entrance/exit of the parking lot, but no any signal in the parking lot. Therefore, providing mobile signal in the parking lot is the most urgent service.   There is also only one-floor parking lot in the south area, divided into 5 areas with over 2000 parking spaces. Besides, there are more residents in south area, so having a signal coverage is pressing.   The requests of this project is to cover all network of signal providers, it’s calling + 4G data of China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom.   Based on this request, our company (Shenzhen ATNJ Communication Technology Co Ltd) adopted our Powerful Ultra-wideband Distributed Antenna System (UDAS) as the bid proposal of this project.   Here we have a brief introduction of UDAS as follows,     1.1 UDAS Introduction UDAS: Powerful Ultra-wideband Distributed Antenna System, is also named as Pull far Distributed Antenna System. The features of PDAS is to use fiber optic cable to connect MU (Main Unit) and RU (Remote Unit), which could meet the demands of long-distant signal transmission (single band frequency transmission distance: 20-120kms, multi-band frequency transmission distance: 2-5kms)   UDAS can better solve the problem of signal attenuation during transmission, and is suitable for large area signal distribution system solutions; the double amplification enhancement of MU & RU is an effective guarantee to amplify weak signals, and it could ensure the full output power signal of each RU, so that the coverage area and the coverage effect are of high quality.   1.2 Device Introduction The equipped devices are high-power five band repeater, it supports frequencies as follows,   Due to the double amplification of MU and RU, the gain could reach 105dbm. Based on the actual site needs, we could also use One-Take-Eight system and use flexible indoor antennas combo. The underground parking lot is an open and enclosed area, using antennas combo with ceiling antenna, LPDA antenna and panel antenna could meet the demands of indoor signal distribution system with lowest materials.   1.4 Solution Advantages ⑴ Solved the signal problems of China Mobile, Unicom, Telecom. It supports 2G+4G signal of Mobile:GSM900M, DCS1800M, FDD LTE1800M and TDD-LTE2600M, 2G+3G+4G signal of Unicom: GSM900M, DCS1800M, WCDMA2100M and FDD-LTE1800M, 2G+3G+4G signal of Telecom: CDMA800M and FDD-LTE1800M.   ⑵ Using fiber cable to transmit signal between MU and RU, it would decrease well the signal attenuation, and meet the demands of distant and big coverage,   ⑶ The gain is high to 105dbi, which makes up the weak signal sources issue.   ⑷ The full output power is high to 27dbm/1W, which could support 15 to 20 indoor antennas to cover 5000 to 10000 sqm.   2.1 Site Survey Except the analysis to the layout, we need to have accurate project information like: signal source, zoning, and cable tray. Signal frequency and strength could be tested as follows in out of South area and North area.   The signal frequency and strength could match and meet the demands of our repeater.   After the site survey to the cable tray and equipment room in parking lot, we collected the information of surrounding of parking lot, AMR demands of each equipment room, positions of Property management office, monitoring room, elevator room to design the exact wiring and topology pictures.   2.2 Solution Design Based on the above data, the solution designed as follows, Use One-Take-Three UDAS in North area with one MU and three RUs. Each RU covers each small area. And C is much opener and squarer, so there would be one channel from RU in C to cover the east side in A.   Use One-Take-Five UDAS in South area with one MU and five RUs. Each RU covers each small area including equipment room, property management office, monitoring room and elevator room.   With this solution with best-price repeater, easiest wiring and construction and the shortest construction time, we won the rely of our client, and succeeded in biding.   3. Project Construction There are three parts for construction: wiring construction, PDAS construction, device debugging. The timetable as follows,   The construction process is fully implemented in accordance with construction company’s construction standards. Power equipment systems were installed on the negative second floor of the five buildings. Since the area is a newly developed building, signal operators' equipment and signals have not been well covered in the area, and there is no signal in the underground parking lot.     The five areas on the negative second floor are power equipment, and the meter reading communication uses China Mobile 4G communication modules, so we need to cover the mobile 4G signals in the five areas in the figure below.   1. Signal Survey   In the area of the first and second floors on the ground floor of the building, the mobile 4G signals detected are all in the 1900Mhz band. The signal RSRP strength is around -90, which can meet the acquisition strength of the source. 2.Device Scheme   1、Device Only mobile 4G is needed, and the 1900M band can meet the demand. Therefore, in this customer application scenario, a single mobile 4G F band is used, and the 1900M signal amplifier can be enhanced. The RU repeater 2 is located at the tail of the 1.4 km pipe corridor.     The indoor distribution of the two RU repeaters is the same,There is a main feeder line from the two sections to the middle, about 70 meters apart,An indoor antenna is coupled to cover the signal in the middle of the channel. Time: Apr.29, 2021 Location: JD QiXian Supermarket (WANKELI Shop) Requests: Calling signal and 4G data signal of whole China Netcom   JD QiXian Supermarket (WANKELI Shop) is located in the podium building and the basement 1 floor of "WANKELI-ZHEN" residential area, near the exit of Antuoshan metro station in Futian District, Shenzhen. As “WANKELI-ZHEN” is newly built, the signal coverage from signal operators is not arranged, but the opening time of supermarket (Apr.30) is imminent. According to the drawings and field surveys, it is found that there are two parts of JD QiXian Supermarket. One part is the distribution area in the ground floor with around 300sqm, and the other part is supermarket working , warehousing and office area in the basement 1st floor, with an area of 2300sqm.   Distribution area in the ground floor   After field surveys, we found that the distribution area on the ground floor is close to the street and has a small area without any partitions or obstructions. The signals of the three networks here are all very good. Therefore, we don’t need to have mobile signal coverage for the distribution area. However, because the supermarket is located in the center of basement 1st floor without any indoor signal distribution from signal operators, only very weak signal could be received in some specific area, calling signal unclear and no 4G signal.   Except the freezer, not matter for shopping or working, 2G/3G/4G signal needs to be fully covered in a supermarket, , especially in the office and checkout.     Scheme   the wiring of indoor signal distribution as below:     1, Outdoor antenna is installed on the exterior wall of distribution area to receive good signal resource. 2, Optical fiber full netcom repeater (MU) is installed on the interior wall of distribution area. 3, Wiring a 200-meter optical fiber cable to connect MU in distribution area of the ground floor to the repeater (RU) in machine room of basement 1st floor. 4, distributing channels from RU to connect 17 ceiling antennas to have fully coverage in B1.         The green areas above is the office area and checkout area.   Topology designed as follows: The signal strength tested near the exterior wall as follows, China Mobile 4G TDD-LTE1900MHz, signal strength -85dBm China Telecom 4G FDD-LTE2100MHz, signal strength -81dBm China Unicom 4G FDD-LTD1800MHz, signal strength -84dBm   Based on the signal strength tested, we would use our five-band optical fiber MU-RU full netcom devices. Because of the location of the supermarket, over 150-meter distance from distribution area in the ground floor, a MU-RU connection solution with optical fiber cable could effectively reduce cable loss, and could double-amplified to have better performance.   Device Introduction   UDAS Introduction   UDAS: Ultra Wide Band Distributed Antenna System, also called optical fiber distribution system. Its main feature is to connect Main Unit (MU) and Remote Unit (RU) with optical fiber cable, which could meet the demands of long-distance signal transmission. The double-amplified signal by MU and RU could effectively ensure the amplification of weak signal and ensure all devices with full output power, which makes coverage bigger and performance better. With a double-amplification, the system gain could be up to 85dBm. Full output power of RU could be 27dBm, which allows it to connect with 15-20 indoor antennas to cover 3000-5000sqm. Construction and installation     Panel Antenna is adopted as outdoor antenna, installed on the exterior wall of distribution area in the ground floor.   Main Unit (MU) is installed on the interior wall of distribution area in the ground floor, and the Remote Unit (RU) is installed in the machine room in the basement 1st floor.   To ensure the use on opening time of the supermarket, it only took 2.5 days to complete all equipment’s installation and complete the whole indoor antennas distribution. Besides, all our cables are wired in the cable trays, which won us high praise from the property and supermarket.   Project effect     After the construction and installation, we tested the signal strength that the 5 bands frequency could achieve very good performance.
