Understanding DAS Infrastructure

A Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is built from multiple connected components that work together to bring unobstructed RF signal indoors. The head-end acts as the hub of the DAS and connects to a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) or a bi-directional amplifier (BDA / repeater) through a donor antenna, which transmits the cellular signal back to the BTS. In a modular DAS, the head-end can support many interchangeable frequency bands and is typically installed in a telecom closet or deep within a building where it remains out of sight.

Active DAS vs. Passive DAS
